The MAIA Diploma Show 2023 invites visitors to delve into the intricate interplay between the natural, artificial, and digital realms within the contemporary built environment. Titled INTERIOR ECOLOGIES, the exhibition explores how discourses around ecology shape the discipline of Interior Architecture in the 21st century.
The scenography is based on the ambiguity of a ready-made: the greenhouse. This architectural typology, used for both intensive agriculture and permaculture, was transformed into a lampshade for the occasion, highlighting the intricate and complex role played by architects in the extractive relationship that our capitalist societies develop with the environment (in the broad sense). After the exhibition, all the greenhouses were redistributed to Geneva’s network of associations.
